To strengthen the Drilling Specialties sales team, Drilling Specialities Company is looking for an

DRILLING AREA SALES MANAGER EUROPE

based in Diegem (BE)

You manage and develop the business in Europe, through direct and indirect sales, and act as a SPOC between your customers and the company. You are part of a strong global sales team of 7 people and report to the Global Drilling Sales Manager.

Main responsibilities
  • You develop the European business through hunting (about 20%) and farming, and successfully managing the regional distribution network.

  • You understand your customers’ challenges and needs, and answer those by representing the Drilling Specialties portfolio and coordinating high service levels.

  • You lead negotiations with key accounts to secure long-term business.

  • You coordinate semiannual customer and sales meeting events.

  • You monitor regional market intelligence, identify industry trends / competitive activity.

  • You manage regional warehouse and consignment inventories.

  • You effectively communicate new product introductions and business development initiatives for distributors and channel partners.

  • You prepare forecasts representing regional demand changes for monthly S&OP meetings.

  • You apply personal safe work practices and promotion of Operational Excellence (OE) principles in fulfillment of all duties.

 

Your profile 
  • You hold a degree in engineering, business or science

  • You have minimum of 10 years industry experience in technical sales or commercial roles

  • Strong oilfield business acumen and drilling industry expertise

  • You have strong inter-personal skills, strategic planning and analytical strengths

  • Track record in driving the sales process by negotiating/closing sustainable new business

  • You understand financial metrics, cost to serve, margins and profitability

  • Experience with SAP, Power BI, Vendavo, CRM and transaction processes

  • You are open to travel 60% of the time

  • Proficiency in technical English language required for the role
